The Climate Trust Ranks among the 100 Best Nonprofits to Work for in Oregon

Published: October 2, 2014 by Editorial Team

More than 180 nonprofits and approximately 5,500 employees took part this year in Oregon Business magazine’s sixth annual 100 Best Nonprofits to Work For in Oregon survey. Participants came from a wide variety of sectors, including environmental, social service and education.

The Climate Trust is proud to have been ranked among such a reputable list of organizations—nonprofits called out by Oregon Business Magazine as highly valuing “their organizations’ mission, fairness in the treatment of women and ethnic minorities, and flexible work schedules.”

“The Trust invests in our people, and their long-term happiness makes for measurable and high-quality climate solutions,” said Sean Penrith, Executive Director for The Climate Trust. “Our cultural values—Supportive, Ambitious, Clear Expectations, Collaborative, Accountable and Results Oriented—are not just words, they have great meaning to each and every team member.”

Here is what some team members had to say.

“I feel fortunate to join this team daily and witness how they pitch in to get things done. Whether it’s our communal salad on Fridays or a heavy lift to square away a carbon project for investment, my teammates collaborate and make it happen!”

“Working at The Climate Trust has given me the much needed support I have been looking for to grow my career. Because of the atmosphere in the office, I am free to take risks and enjoy my job!”

“How refreshing it is to be working with a group of people who are so ambitious in reaching our shared vision with such a high level of support and cooperation.”

“On any given day, I have experienced the support of my team in the form of kind words, mentorship around my professional development goals, much-needed encouragement on a project, and let’s not forget baked goods.”

The Climate Trust is actively building a company and culture that is standing the test of time. A company that can accomplish a big mission, with a small, but mighty team. We’re excited to see what the New Year brings to our team, while also exploring our new organizational purpose—transforming the economy to value our climate.
