The Climate Trust is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and pioneer in the greenhouse gas offset market. In 1997, Oregon passed the first law in the US to limit greenhouse gases, requiring the owners of new fossil fueled power plants to offset a portion of their facilities’ emissions. The Climate Trust was formed to acquire offsets on behalf of these entities.
The Climate Trust’s mission is to promote climate change solutions by providing high-quality greenhouse gas offset projects and advancing sound offset policy. The Climate Trust funds innovative projects that implement different strategies to reduce, avoid, or sequester greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, the group advises policy makers on the importance of offset quality at the state, regional, national, and international levels.
The Climate Trust has grown to be a nationally recognized leader in both the voluntary and regulatory greenhouse gas offset markets.

One Million Revolutions produces athletic events (triathlons and
duathlons) in New York and Oregon. As part of their commitment to sustainable race production, they maintain an online registration system which allows events to offset greenhouse gas emissions resulting from participant travel. Each of the three races produced by One Million Revolutions has committed to offsetting its greenhouse gas emissions in partnership with The Climate Trust.
